Comparing Yourself With Others Is Stupidity

Have you ever compared yourself with another person? Maybe saying something like, I think I am better than that guy! I think I have tried compared to the performance of others. Well, it is not a wise thing to do according to 2 Corinthians 10:12.

Oh, don't worry, I wouldn't dare say that I am as wonderful as these other men who tell you how good they are! Their trouble is that they are only comparing themselves with each other and measuring themselves against their own little ideas. What stupidity!

Yes i agree with you totally, in the first instance, why should i compare myself with anyone, mind you i do not even have a clue about the person's stand point about any issue pertaining to God, where the person is coming from, as in his or her point of view concerning life here after, what the person has been through, the person's values, norms and ethics.

It will be not just stupidity but an error to compare oneself with others. It is only guys and girls who are under a heavy dose of peer pressure that will indulge in such expensive mistake. Not me! ;)

I agree with you, but sometimes unconsciously that is what we do. We compare ourselves with others and then feel bad that God is not treating us fine.
Two weeks ago, my pastor shared with us how he was in traffic and he started thinking in his heart that the man sitting in a 4x4 vehicle behind him was better off. Immediately, the Holy Spirit rebuked him by telling him that that guy in the 4x4 was just told by his doctor that he has 3months left to live because he has a terminal decease. God have mercy on us all.

 :o I'm sure he didn't feel like being the same with that guy after that kind of revelation. Thanks be to God who doesn't grant our stupid wishes, but answer us in His loving kindness instead. Many of us would have definitely gotten into serious trouble.  :angel:

Agreed it is stupid to compare, but we still do it. Sometimes, unconsciously.
