The Days of Little Beginning

  •         Text: Job 8:1-10

Introduction: Each of us desirous  of manifesting as the Sons of God are not looking for insignificant changes in  our life and situations. Many of us are having high expectation. We all are  looking forward to a radical or super change. However, a look into God’s word  shows that often, God starts His work in us in a way we may consider  insignificant. This brings about the temptation of despising such small changes  and complaining that His promises are not true.

Looking at the Cold and Hard Fact
People have a  tendency of looking at where they are now in their life and using is as a  yardstick to determine what their future will be. Do not base your tomorrow on  your today. Where you are now in your present state does not determine where  you will end up.  Your future shines as bright as you would like it  to.

    Sowing for Tomorrow
However, what you do  today determines your tomorrow. The seeds you sow today will be the harvest  you’ll reap tomorrow. Genesis 8:22 “As long as the earth remain there will be  seed-time and harvest.” If you are sowing good seeds then you can  be certain that your harvest will eventually come. The size of the harvest  however will be determined by how diligent and faithful you’ve been with your  sowing.  II Corn. 9:6 states “He who sows sparingly shall reap also  sparingly; he who sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully, …”

Despise not days of little beginning
Luke 16:10 NLT If you are faithful in little things, you  will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you  won't be honest with greater responsibilities.
My small beginning is  God’s way of testing my stewardship ability. He wants to see that I will not  fail Him when given greater opportunity.  By the way, has it occurred to you that you  deserve NOTHING. What can you do to God if He refuse to give you anything? Who can  query the Almighty?

    Personal Reflection
    1.       How am I handling the  small income?
    2.      How am I handling the  small apartment where I live?
    3.      How am I treating the  little blessing He has given me?
    4.      How am I treating the  talent he has given me? Mathew 25:14-28
    5.      How am I handling the  ministry committed into my hand? Colossians  4:17

  •     Here are likely prayer points:
    1.      Father help me to keep looking unto Jesus and not the hard and cold  facts of life.
    2.        Help me not to eat my seed nor get tired of sowing.
    3.        Help me not to despise what you’ve given to me.
    4.       Teach  me how to be fruitful in every area of my life.  Isaiah 48:17

A fool has said in his heart, there is no God! I refuse to be a fool ;)
