I have discovered that a lot of folks assume that WORK as in labor is as a result of the curse pronounce by God in Genesis 3:17-19. A close examination of the verses reveals that the curse was that Adam will labor before he will be able to eat unlike the pre-curse era when he had all his need supplied in the garden of Eden.

However, a quick look at Genesis 2:15 shows that even though God supplied all the needs of Adam, yet He gave him WORK to do. He was commanded to keep the garden of Eden. Beside that, you will notice also that Adam was given the assignment of naming all the animals, birds etc. That was some sort of work.

The only difference then is that before the CURSE in Genesis chapter 3, work was done without STRESS, and Adam's provisions was not dependent on his personal labor. However, after the CURSE, the amount of provision he has available to him was directly dependent on his labor. Also, the ground was not co-operating with him as he receives results that is less than what he expects.

In conclusion, I wish to share that as a believer, it is foolishness to see WORK as a curse or a necessary EVIL. Rather, it should be seen as a golden opportunity to add value to the EARTH and it's inhabitant. If you see your job or labor as an opportunity to impact others' life, you will become a lot happier and live a fulfilling life.

Peradventure your present job is uninteresting and you really dislike it, still put in your best effort while you pray to God for a change. He still answers prayer. I do hope this little write-up will encourage someone somewhere. Hallelujah!!!

I agree with you that some jobs are undesirable. However as christians we need to remember that complaining does no one any good. Personally, I believe you should be grateful irrespective of how bad it seems. Some folks have nothing! No job, no pay and yet bills are piling up by the day.

If you cultivate the attitude of gratitude, then you will be in a better frame of mind to review you present situation and take proactive actions to get better result.

• For example, look for something good about the current job. This will enable you do the work cheerfully and it will certainly be noticed by those around you.
• Start putting in more effort than is been forced out of you by your superior. (He or she may just notice the sudden change and respond positively with a raise).
• Finally, start looking for a better opportunity elsewhere if you feel the present job has no future whatsoever.

I strongly believe it is a better approach than COMPLAINING and GRUMBLING! Remember the children of Isreal, they complained about MANNA and got stucked with it for 40years!
